Alexander Gorkin, Doctor of Geographical Sciences


An expert in geography of World's and USA's industry, factors and conditions for its spatial deployment. He established a new line of research in geography of industry by introducing and developing the concept of "post-industrial industry". He also has shown relationship between business cycles and the location of production in the industrial and postindustrial eras, and has put forward the concept of Kondratiev long waves' spatial component. He worked at the Institute during 1962-1979 years, then returned in 2001.
