Tatyana Nefedova, Doctor of Geographical Sciences


Major expert in geography of rural territories and agriculture of Russia, author of the concepts of social geography of agriculture, natural and social adaptation strategy of modern agriculture, increasing polarization of the non-urban space. She have developed new approaches to the zoning of agriculture (which takes into account its multistage structure) and to the typology of rural areas. She studies interaction of urban and rural areas, secondary development of rural areas through dachas (summer cottages) deployment, urgent problems of urbanization and changes in the state of Russian cities. At the Institute since 1978.
