Resource management and its socio-environmental impacts

Resource management and its socio-environmental impacts

Human impacts on nature

The problem of reducing the negative impact of industry on natural systems can be solved only in the mainstream of improving the quality of economic growth, of living conditions and conditions of the environment. A multiplicative effect of interaction of these criteria is the notion of "spatial efficiency of resource management", which increases its social orientation and at the same time becomes more important for regions than its sectoral economic efficiency.

Combination of natural and socio-economic resources

Regional differences in the combinations and ratios of socio-economic resources, estimated at a cost of industrial fixed assets, characterize the distribution of a large part of the national wealth between regions, reflecting the outcome of their development in the past and making up the base for the future. Calculations have shown that the economic efficiency of regions along the axes of east-west and north-south are determined by ranges of four interacting parameters: the value of fixed industrial assets, their structure, the total population and employment in the economy, which vary in space, depending on the stage of its occupation and development.

Territorial structure of resource management AT the regional and local levels

The post-Soviet transformation of society led to changes in the territorial structure of natural resources management (as well as management of economy in general) at all levels. But at the microstructural level, it is the most dynamic and most subject to changes. Against the background of general trends in the economy of Russia and it's eastern territories (recession in 1990-1998 and recovery in 1999-2007), discrepant changes in the territorial-administrative structure of local resource management could be seen throughout the entire post-Soviet period.
